Vegan MoFo Post #18!

I was supposed to be in NY by now, but thanks to Hurricane Sandy I am stuck in a hotel in London next to Heathrow Airport until further notice. Right now my flight is booked for November 1st, that storm better blow through quick. Of course I am stuck in one of the most expensive cities in the world, on the opposite side of London from where any of my friends live and internet costs 15 pounds a day. So I may have been about to fucking kill everyone when I woke up this morning, but then the hotel had veggie sausage for breakfast and they got me soymilk for my coffee. Wise choice, don’t deny a hangry (hungry + angry) vegan her morning caffeine fix. My breakfast above: Baked beans, mushrooms, veggie sausage, hash browns and ketchup, and a roasted tomato.

My new mission for the next few days is to hoard a bunch of almonds and hazelnuts every morning so that I have enough to bake something awesome with them when I (finally) get to New York. Here is what I have so far, I may or may not have pocketed some additional nuts on my way up to my room…and some coffee and soymilk. What is a hotel breakfast buffet for, if not hoarding small food items, sugar packets and tiny margarine slabs?

Now I’m going to suck it up and use the day to work and catch up on internet chores. If you also happen to be stuck in London because of this storm, let’s hang out.

What’s the best vegan hotel food surprise you’ve ever had?
